NLGROUP UPCOMING OFFICE CLOSURES
Thursday, Nov 26 – Holiday
- Office closed for All Employees
Friday, Nov 27 – NLG Holiday
- Office closed except those critical to trading and servicing variable products.
- Sentinel and ESI: the equity markets are open until 1p ET and bond markets until 2p ET. As such ESI must staff for any client trades or money movement requests that day. Reduced staff until 2p ET.

Important Deadlines
Friday, November 13th
- Life policies with an internal or external 1035 Exchange needed for year-end must be approved and in good order to allow adequate time for funds to transfer from the replaced carrier.
Friday, November 20
- Premium finance applications should be approved. Banks may have reduced availability due to the holidays, please allow for adequate time for funding.
Friday, December 4
- Final Rewrite requests must be received and in good order.
Friday, December 18
- New Business eApps and paper applications must be received and in good order.
- Final Requirements must be received and in good order.
- Pension/Profit Sharing Plan applications must be received and in good order.
To make time-sensitive disbursement requests before year-end:
Any Life or Annuity policy disbursement request (including required minimum distributions) received by the Home Office after Monday, December 7 may not be processed prior to year-end. In order to ensure processing within the 2026 tax year, please submit to disbursement requests in advance of this date.

Term Conversion
Deadline for Term Conversion Applications to be issued and paid in 2026
- Friday, November 13: Term Conversions with an internal or external 1035 exchange.
- Friday, November 20: Premium Finance Term Conversions
- Friday, December 11: Pension/Profit Sharing Term Conversion
- Friday December 4: Term Conversions requiring Underwriting (improvement in premium class, increase in coverage, additional riders that are not on term policy) must be submitted in good order by this date.
- Friday, December 4: Term Conversion Rewrite requests must be received and in good order.
- Monday, December 14: Deadline for Term Conversions submitted on a paper application to be issued and paid in 2026, must be received by end of the day and be in good order (including an illustration that matches the application)
- Monday, December 21: Term Conversions submitted via eApp to be issued and paid in 2026 must be received by end of the day and be in good order.
Important Tips for submitting Term Conversions:
- Use eApp for Term Conversions
- Be sure the Owner of the TERM policy signs the Term Conversion Application
- If policy is assigned the Term Conversion application must be signed by an authorized officer of the bank, with signature notarized
- Include initial payment instructions (such as draft initial payment or send check of initial payment)
- If term is being partially converted give instructions to either cancel the remaining term insurance or continue the remaining term insurance
- Please include an illustration with all Term Conversions to ensure the new policy is issued correctly.
After Issue
Deadline for After Issue Face Increase and Reinstatements Applications to be processed in 2026
- Friday, December 4: Applications must be received in good order for underwriting’s review.
- All requests approved by underwriting by 12/16/2026 will be processed effective the December monthly policy date .
- Requests approved by underwriting after 12/16/2026 can only be back dated up to 2 weeks. If the December monthly policy date does not fall within that two-week window, the change will be processed effective the January monthly policy date.
Important Tips for submitting after issue change requests:
- Use eApp in the Agent’s portal by selecting “Change/Reinstatement and Contract Changes” from the Product Type picklist and follow the prompts.
- Submit any reinstatement charges due with the application for reinstatement as it is part of the reinstatement requirements
- Payment can be made by phone, check, or using the 1707 Form.

Form 1707: This form can be completed physically by printing the form and signing with a wet ink signature or electronically by accessing the form through this link: EFT Form 1707 PowerForm. *In the “Life Insurance Payment” box select “Make a One-Time Payment”, provide the date to draft this payment, and note the reinstatement charge in the “amount” field. This form can also be used to setup future reoccurring EFT payments by completing the remaining fields in the “Life Insurance Payment” box.
Holiday Week Commission Runs
- Thursday, November 19: Cutoff for deposit on Tuesday, November 24.
- Tuesday, November 24: Cutoff for deposit on Tuesday, December 1 (the change from Thursday to Tuesday due to the holiday week).
- Thursday, December 17: Cutoff for deposit on Tuesday, December 22.
- Wednesday, December 23: Cutoff for deposit on Tuesday, December 29 (the change from Thursday to Wednesday due to the holiday week). Note – this is the last commission cutoff for tax year 2026.
- Wednesday, December 30: Cutoff for deposit on Tuesday, January 5. Note – this pay cycle will be tax year 2027.
* Remember to update your mailing address within the Commissions Payment Portal so tax statements (including 1099s and W2Ss) are sent to your desired address.
