George Bandurchin III, Police Grand Prize Winner

Sergeant George Bandurchin III of the Baltimore County Police Department was named the Police Grand Prize Winner of this year’s Do Good Heroes program for his commitment to serving and uplifting his community.

Ryan Behnken highlighted George’s impact beyond his role in law enforcement. From founding Badges for Bass, which introduces local children to the outdoors, to organizing events for seniors and families in need, he consistently creates meaningful connections across Parkville while also supporting fellow officers.

Through the Do Good Heroes program, George received $5,000 for the Parkville Police Community Relations Council, which funds the programs he leads in the community.

Gary Weiland, Fire Grand Prize Winner

Nominated by Lauren Coffey of Our Infinite Company

Gary Weiland, Deputy Fire Marshal for the City of Denton, was named the Fire Grand Prize Winner in recognition of his resilience and continued service.

Lauren Coffey recognized Gary’s perseverance after returning to full-duty firefighting just over ten months after losing his leg, with support from the nonprofit 50 Legs. He now shares his story nationwide as a motivational speaker, encouraging others to adapt and overcome challenges.

Gary received $5,000, shared between 50 Legs and Denton Fire Traditions, supporting both his recovery journey and fellow firefighters in his community.
